JOB PURPOSE
To develop, guide and oversee the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework/policy, continued assessment of risks and opportunities to ensure that the company’s objectives are achieved and shareholder value is protected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop and implement the overall Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Company.
- Support the Board Audit and Risk Committee in ensuring the identification and prioritization of Principal Risks and reporting on the same.
- Develop initiatives and drive the inculcation of a Risk Management culture across UNOC and its Subsidiaries.
- Advise Senior Management on Risk Management requirements in strategic decision making.
- Facilitate the process of setting the company’s risk appetite and ensuring it is adhered to.
- Develop and Maintain the Company Risk Register.
- Keep the Board and Senior Management appraised of industry Standards in Risk Management.
- Continuously improve the Risk Management Policy and Risk Management Framework.
- Support the Executive Committee in the identification, analysis, evaluation of Corporate and Principal Risks.
- Conduct Risk assurance engagements and reporting on status of Risk Management across UNOC to the Senior Management and the Board.
- Periodically evaluate the risk maturity level of the company and devise strategies to enhance the company’s risk maturity level.
- Monitor implementation of Risk Mitigation actions to ensure reduction in the level of Risk.
- Identify training needs for risk management and oversee development of enterprise risk competence and awareness across the company.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the company’s internal control framework in addressing risks and accomplishing the company’s goals and objectives.
- Champion the development and execution of Business Continuity Management (BCP) program and ensure appropriate BCM capability, including Technology services is put in place to support the business continuity requirements.
- Proactively identify emerging risks and report to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct assessments for risks that materialize, and document lessons learnt.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s).
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Enterprise Risk Management or other relevant master’s degree.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related fields from a recognized University.
- Full Professional Membership (ACCA / CPA).
- Certification in Risk Management is an essential requirement.
- At least ten (10) years working experience in finance, audit or risk management roles, five (5) of which is attained at a managerial/supervisory level.
- Good knowledge of the Oil & Gas Value Chain is an added advantage
