Background The WeWork Project (2025–2026), funded by Enabel and implemented by Cordaid in partnership with Rikolto and Care And Empowerment of the Vulnerable in Action (CAEVA), seeks to create green and decent jobs for youth in the Busoga region, particularly in Jinja and Kamuli districts. The project equips youth with technical skills in piggery, poultry, and fish farming, complemented by work-based learning, entrepreneurship training, and post-training support. To ensure effective coordination and timely delivery of field activities, Rikolto seeks to engage a Project Assistant (PA) on a short-term consultancy basis. The PA will directly support the Project Coordinator in planning, coordinating, and monitoring activities in Jinja and Kamuli. 2. Objective of the Assignment The overall objective is to provide technical, administrative, and logistical support to the Project Coordinator for the smooth implementation of the WeWork Project at the field level in Jinja and Kamuli districts. 3. Scope of Work The consultant will: Support beneficiary mobilization, registration, and communication. Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring skills training sessions, including Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) certification processes. Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops, job fairs, and distribution of start-up kits. Facilitate coordination with CAEVA, Cordaid, private sector actors, and local authorities. Collect, compile, and maintain beneficiary and activity data for monitoring and reporting. Prepare field activity reports, case stories, and success stories. Support the organization of review meetings, supervision visits, and donor monitoring visits. Ensure compliance with project visibility and safeguarding policies during field activities. Perform any other related duties assigned by the Project Coordinator. 4. Deliverables Monthly progress reports on field activities. Accurate and updated beneficiary data (attendance, follow-up, assessments). Documentation of challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations. Field-level coordination ensuring smooth implementation of trainings, assessments, and post-training support. 5. Duration and Duty Station This consultancy is for a 12-month period, from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. The PA will be based in Jinja, with regular travel to Kamuli district. 6. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field. At least 2 years of relevant experience in project implementation, youth empowerment, skilling, or livelihoods programming. Strong interpersonal and coordination skills with ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Good communication skills in English and Lusoga/Luganda. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, digital data tools). Previous experience working in Jinja and Kamuli is an added advantage. 7. Management and Supervision The consultant will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator – WeWork Project, and in close collaboration with project technical and M&E staff. 8. Payment Terms The consultancy gross amount is UGX 1,200,000 per month. Payment will be made monthly, upon submission of deliverables and approval by the Project Coordinator. Fees will be in line with Rikolto’s local consultancy rates and subjected to 6% withholding tax as per Uganda Revenue Authority regulations. 9. Ethical Considerations The consultant is expected to adhere to Rikolto’s Code of Conduct, safeguarding, anti-fraud, and integrity policies, and to maintain confidentiality of project-related information. 10.
