On behalf of Our client in the manufacturing sector, we are looking for competent and experienced Company Nurse to be based in Jinja

Reports To: Senior Human Resources Officer.

Job Summary: The Company Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of all employees within the company. This role combines occupational health care with first-aid response, health education, and compliance with safety standards and legal requirements. The Company Nurse also supports health-related programs, handles work-related injuries, and ensures proper documentation and reporting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Emergency response and first aid to employees in case of any accident.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Follow up on employees admitted in the hospital.
  • Provide permissible treatment to sick employees.
  • Recommend sick leave to sick patients.
  • Maintain Medical Records: Keep accurate and confidential medical records of employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide Medical Care: Deliver medical care and treatment to employees who are injured or ill at work, including first aid, wound care, and medication administration if required.
  • Conduct Health Assessments: Perform health assessments, screenings, and monitoring to identify potential health risks and develop strategies for prevention and intervention.
  • Develop Health Programs: Create and implement health promotion programs, workshops, and educational sessions to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among employees.
  • Collaborate with Management: Work with management and HR to develop policies and procedures that promote employee health and well-being.
  • Identify Workplace Hazards: Identify potential workplace hazards and collaborate with management to develop strategies for mitigation and prevention.
  • Provide Health Education: Educate employees on health-related matters, including stress management, wellness, and work-life balance.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Support Employee Health: Provide support and guidance to employees on health-related matters, promoting a healthy and safe work environment.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Diploma in nursing
  • Valid practice license from Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinic in a manufacturing set up is an added advantage.
  • Good communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
