Job Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion. They work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that project goals are met while adhering to time, budget, and quality constraints. The Project Manager must be an excellent communicator, problem-solver, and leader who is able to coordinate across different functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Strategy:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans that outline project tasks, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain clear communication channels with all project stakeholders.
Team Management:
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams to ensure they are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their expertise and capacity.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure team members are on track with their tasks and deadlines.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints.
- Allocate resources effectively, identifying any resource gaps and ensuring necessary adjustments are made.
- Monitor and track project expenses and ensure that the project is delivered within the agreed budget.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Monitor and evaluate project risks throughout the lifecycle, adapting the plan as needed to mitigate potential problems.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and customer expectations.
- Oversee the implementation of processes to track project performance and quality benchmarks.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates, including status reports, progress tracking, and final deliverables.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and post-project evaluations.
Change Management:
- Manage any changes to the project scope, schedule, or resources, ensuring that they are properly documented and approved by stakeholders.
- Adjust project plans and timelines as necessary to accommodate changes or unforeseen challenges.
Project Closure & Evaluation:
- Ensure that all project deliverables have been completed and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
- Provide final project reports to stakeholders and ensure the formal closure of the project.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Telecommunication Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree or Project Management certification preferred).
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a track record of successful project delivery in Telecom projects, Software delivery projects
- Strong experience with project management tools like MS project, JIRA
- At least 3 years of experience in project management
Key Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Expertise in budget and resource management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
Added advantage
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Previous experience in the Telecom/ICT industry
