Context & Environment

There is no equivalent project of such an industrial drilling magnitude in a remote and sensitive area within the Group today. The Tilenga oilfields are partly situated in a protected National Park, partly beneath the river Nile wetlands area, and within densely populated area in a rural and remote part of Uganda. Activities exposed to the risk of major incidents with severe potential consequences due to local environment and important presence of NGO’s. Factory Drilling with a well delivered every 4 days using 3 drilling rigs simultaneously will necessitate standardization of equipment and procedures, strict enforcement of Drilling & Well instructions, safe and efficient logistic management on site. The project is focused on delivering the lowest possible cost, which requires challenging TOTAL design concepts as well as substantially challenging the TOTAL referential. Multicultural environment: Contractors are anticipated to be located in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as International codes for onshore plant will apply. The project FID was signed on Q1-2022 with a start of drilling operations on Q2 2022 and a Ready For Start-up (RFSU) target of July 2026.

Activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and implement the HSEQ management system
  • Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior about HSEQ rules & requirements, as well Company Ethics & “Code of Conduct” policy
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis and make suggestions
  • Ensure HSE standard of Contractors enrolled in activities are in line with Company rules & referential
  • Promote and control rigorous application of Company Golden Rules in all activities.
  • Support the overall maintenance activities of the facility by supporting the preparation and execution of maintenance works and campaigns.
  • Support the site and central methods maintenance and inspection team by preparing maintenance/inspection campaigns ensuring that all resources, materials, logistics and support requirements are in place to execute the campaign in line with the agreed planning.
  • Coordinate the support requirements for large maintenance activities at site ensuring that all resources, materials, logistics and support requirements are in place to execute the campaign.
  • Manage the mobilization of SMC vendors and other support contractors require to execute site works.
  • Interface with other departments and wider company teams to ensure that support requirements are in place for the planned scopes.
  • Support the overall operational planning process ensuring that accurate manning and duration forecast are inputted.
  • Follow up the supply of material required for site activities ensuring the timely placement of Purchase Orders, good receipt and reception at site to support the works.
  • When required, support works at site by managing larger and complex scopes.
  • Implement a robust job control process to track and implement the “control of works” allow to demonstrate preparation status at any points.
  • Support the implementation of Digital Tools to assist the execution of maintenance activities.

Operations

  • Identify operations for performance improvements or introduction of new techniques to introduce operational efficiency to the activities.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorized persons, satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and by making regular visits to site.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Maintenance Services, within an industrial environment (oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical).
  • Knowledge of industrial regulations and standards related to workscope.
  • Experience in site maintenance management.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools.
