A sustainable income for farmers, and nutritious, affordable food for everyone: this is what Rikolto works for.
Rikolto is an international network organisation with more than 40 years’ experience in partnering with farmer organisations and food chain stakeholders across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Rikolto has a global team of over 200 employees, based in 5 offices across the world. We work around three global programmes: Sustainable Rice, Sustainable Cocoa and Coffee, and Good Food For Cities in 18 countries.
This network is supported by a global support team, which fulfils key advisory roles and offers shared services such as finance, monitoring & evaluation, people & organisation, ICT, communication and fundraising.
Within this team, we are now opening up an internship position in the field of management support.
About the position
Rikolto is opening up an internship position to assist our management on a specific project regarding staff workload. We want to create an opportunity for you to learn about the daily functioning of our organization: the policies we have in place, how we deal with upcoming issues, how we go about new opportunities, and how we strive to continuously improve. At the same time, we hope that Rikolto can also benefit from the knowledge and skills that you bring to our organization. You will become part of an enthusiastic and diverse international team. We are looking forward to welcoming you!
We offer
- Contract type: professional internship
- Period: from August to November 2025
- Location: Kampala (Uganda)
- Reports to: Global Operations Director
- Position in the organisation: part of the Global Support Team
Your project
As management support intern, you will be working on a dedicated project about the staff’s workload in the organization. From recent staff satisfaction survey results and global strategy meetings, it has become clear that a heavy workload is a cross-cutting issue in our organization. To come up with solutions, the global management would like to develop a Guideline on Workload Management.
- Step 1. Gather and organize the existing information:
- Results from the Employee Satisfaction Survey
- Outcomes of the Structure Assessment
- Feedback and discussions on the results of the Employee Satisfaction Survey
- Outputs from management meetings
- Step 2. Start from the outline prepared by management to develop the content of the Guideline, and use the gathered information to develop concrete examples of the workload challenges on the one hand and proposed solutions on the other
- Step 3. Consult relevant colleagues to gather more examples where missing
- Step 4. From the final version of the guideline, develop a simple tool to implement and monitor the progress in reducing workload
