Job Summary:

We are're seeking a skilled Animal Feed Laboratory Technician to join our team, the key role will be to conduct tests and analysis on animal feedingredients and finished products to ensure quality and safety standards are met. The successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to go for a further training for about two month in our main entities located in Kenya to enhance more knowledge laboratory techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Raw Materials Inspection

1. Sampling and testing of incoming materials such as corn, soybeanmeal, and premixes.

2. Tests include moisture, mold, impurities, and protein level.

II. Finished Feed Testing

3. Conduct routine testing on finished feed to ensure compliance with nutrition specifications and standards.

4. Monitor key parameters such as protein, fat, energy, fiber, and trace minerals.

III. Laboratory Data Management

5. Record and manage all laboratory testing data for accuracy and traceability.

6. Prepare daily reports, weekly reports, and quality analysis summaries.

IV. Quality Control & Production Support

7. Assist production team to monitor feed formula quality and propose adjustments.

8. Report abnormal test results and participate in quality troubleshooting.

V. Laboratory Management

9. Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

10. Manage laboratory consumables and reagents, ensuring adequate stock and proper handling.

VI. Compliance & Safety

11. Follow laboratory SOPs, feed quality standards, and safety protocols.

12. Ensure safe handling of chemicals and proper laboratory hygiene.

Requirements:

1. Education:

Diploma or above in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Food Science, Feed Processing, Chemical Analysis, or related fields.

2. Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in feed mills, food factories, or laboratory testing.

3. Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills.

4. Knowledge:

Understanding of laboratory techniques, quality control principles, and regulatory requirements.

5. Must hold a valid Laboratory Technician Certificate or relevant qualification.

6. Familiar with feed raw material and finished feed testing standards (moisture, crude protein, fat, fiber, ash, mycotoxins, etc.).

7. Skilled in operating laboratory equipment such as grinders, ovens, protein analyzers, Soxhlet extractors, digital balances, etc.

8. Strong awareness of quality, responsibility, and accuracy in data.

9. Ability to prepare test reports and conduct basic data analysis.
