Job Purpose
The IT Solutions Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance of servers, networks, and enterprise systems while maintaining security, compliance, and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, Active Directory, and domain services.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational policies.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and uptime.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain and optimize virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
- Support email systems, file servers, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint).
- Implement and enforce IT security protocols including firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
Education, Training, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in system administration, network management, or IT infrastructure support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and automation tools.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST).
Preferred Attributes
- Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying system improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Certifications such as MCSA, CompTIA Server+, or Azure Administrator are a plus.
