Background
We are seeking a highly organised and detailed and detail-oriented purchase Assistant to support our procurement team who is well versed with the Ugandan market environment especially in the field of agriculture.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records. The following are the key responsibilities but not limited to;
- Sourcing suppliers and maintain supplier information; Research and identifying potential suppliers, Regularly evaluate supplier performance, comparing prices and services costs in the market and optimize procurement channels
- Purchase order processing; Process purchase documents such as the contracts, invoices, warehouse entry orders, prepare and prices purchasing orders and ensuring accuracy and compliance with the company policy and clear accounts and compliant processes
- Record keeping; Maintain accurate records of purchase, including orders deliveries and payments.
- Inventory management; Assist in inventory management, including tracking stock levels and reporting.
- Data analysis; Analyse purchasing data to identify trends, opportunities for cost saving and areas of improvement.
- Communication; Communicate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and other departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Complete other procurement-related matters assigned by the superiors
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education; Bachelors degree in procurement or a diploma in the same related fields.
- Experience; previous experience of at least 1 year in procurement or related fields. Fresh graduates with internship experiences may be considered
- Software skill; Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft office.
- Attention to detail and organization skill
- Analytical skills
- Personal qualities; strong sense of responsibility, good communication and coordination skills, able to withstand certain work pressure. Careful and rigorous with good negotiation skills and risk prevention and control awareness
