Heritage International School is now collecting applications for Secondary Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. As our hiring needs for August 2026 are confirmed, shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interviews.
We ask interested candidates to share their major, teaching certification, and preferred subject/grade levels, along with their CV.
Nature and Scope
Secondary teachers at Heritage teach one or more core subjects to students aged 11–19. They plan lessons aligned with curriculum objectives, support and track student progress, and maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Teachers are expected to stay current in their subject, use effective instructional strategies, collaborate professionally, and communicate regularly with parents and colleagues.
Personal Qualities

- Maintain an active devotional and prayer life
- Are active members of a Christian church (locally or abroad)
- Inspire Christian commitment and contribute to a positive spiritual climate

Professional Responsibilities
General Duties
- Implement curriculum effectively and deliver instruction aligned with the school’s mission
- Take responsibility for student learning, progress, and assessment
- Maintain an inclusive, emotionally safe, and well-managed classroom
- Prepare students for standardized assessments and external exams
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction
- Collaborate with department teams on curriculum, planning, and resources
- Participate in the extracurricular life of the school
- Maintain strong home–school communication
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Secondary Principal
Teaching and Learning
- Demonstrate strong teaching practice and maintain high classroom expectations
- Plan creative, rigorous learning experiences that engage diverse learners
- Contribute to curriculum development, moderation, and team initiatives
- Maintain an organized and effective learning environment
- Actively participate in Secondary team meetings and divisional planning
Communication
- Build positive professional relationships with colleagues, leaders, families, and the school community
- Ensure parents are informed about curriculum, progress, and learning expectations
- Attend relevant divisional and whole-school meetings
Professional Development
- Submit annual professional growth goals
- Participate in staff meetings, committees, PD workshops, and in-service training
- Stay current in subject-area developments, pedagogy, and technology
- Engage in observations and coaching as part of ongoing development
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (education degree or teaching qualification preferred)
- Preference given to those with ACSI certification
- International school experience or international training preferred
- Evidence of recent professional growth
- Strong understanding of child development, curriculum, and instructional practice
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Competent with educational technology
- A life and conduct aligned with the Statement of Faith of Heritage International School
- Previous international travel or cross-cultural experience preferred
