Job Purpose
To oversee financial operations, for accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and guidelines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitoring and analyzing financial (NTR) performance or URSB, identifying trends and variances.
- Managing and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Processing financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Participating in strategic planning and decision-making related to financial matters.
Person Specifications
Academic qualifications
EITHER
-
- Bachelor’s degree in either Finance, Accounting, Financial Accounting or Commerce from a recognized University or institution.
OR
-
- Full Professional qualification in Accountancy such as CIA, ACCA, CPA, CA from a recognised awarding institution.
AND
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Business Administration, from a recognized University or institution.
- Registered member of the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
Work Experience
At least nine (9) years’ work experience in accounts, six (6) of which should have been at the level of Senior Accountant or Senior Finance Officer level in a reputable government or private institution.
