CHAI is seeking a Senior Associate for HIV Prevention to support ongoing HIV prevention efforts and coordinate the national rollout of Lenacapavir for PrEP. The Senior Associate will work closely with the MoH, NDA, donor partners, implementing partners, and community stakeholders to accelerate regulatory, policy, training, service delivery, and demand generation efforts. This role requires strong project management skills, technical understanding of HIV prevention programming, and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams across stakeholders. The Senior Associate will report to the Senior Program Manager and will support planning, execution, and monitoring of all activities in the Lenacapavir National Introduction and Acceleration Plan. The Senior Associate will be responsible for various tasks, including quantitative and qualitative analytics and collaborating with stakeholders, including MOH, to build sustainable data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities
Working closely with the Ministry of Health (MoH), partners, and relevant technical working groups or committees, the Senior Associate HIV Prevention Services will:
Project Management
- Support planning, organizing, communication, risk mapping, monitoring, and quality execution of key activities of the assigned project in line with CHAI values and policies.
- Support the design/update and development of effective integrated tools and methodologies for planning, monitoring, and reporting project or program impact indicators.
- Develop project-specific log-frames, work plans, and ensure project targets are met.
- Oversee the execution of routine analyses for program management data and the development of related tools and processes within the designated program.
- Provide technical assistance to MOH and partners in the development of related national operational and strategic plans and policies while ensuring alignment with CHAI strategic priorities.
- Support the implementation of the Lenacapavir Introduction & Acceleration Plan in close collaboration with MoH and partners, including training.
- Work with partners to integrate LEN into existing HIV prevention platforms.
- Support MoH to convene and coordinate the Prevention Task Force meetings.
- Coordinate inputs for regulatory submission and follow-up with NDA.
- Track deliverables, risks, and progress against milestones across the regulatory, policy, and implementation domains.
Technical Capacity
- Support development and/or revision of national guidelines, SOPs, and training materials to incorporate LEN PrEP.
- Conduct and synthesize landscape analyses and site readiness assessments.
- Analyze data on PrEP uptake, service coverage, and demand generation effectiveness.
- Support routine monitoring and learning processes, including learning collaboratives and implementation research activities.
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in government, international partners, donors, and other NGO partners, and ensure an up-to-date program stakeholder matrix.
- Collaborate with MoH and partners to design and implement demand generation strategies targeting populations prioritized by the MoH for PrEP.
- Engage KP-led organizations and community champions to promote literacy on LEN and address myths/misinformation.
- Represent CHAI Uganda nationally and globally at program improvement-related forums and foster effective exchange of best practices.
Communication
- Support the development and dissemination of knowledge products and lessons learned in relation to Lenacapavir PrEP introduction.
- Collaborate with partners in developing advocacy briefs and other resources to inform decision-making for PrEP.
- Develop progress reports and lead targeted dissemination in existing national and subnational level engagements.
People management
- Collaborate with other CHAI country and global teams working on prevention initiatives and ensure coordinated engagements and linkages to the HIV Prevention priorities.
Problem-Solving
- Lead the identification and assessment of project risks and challenges, conduct evidence-based analysis of potential solutions, and provide strategic guidance on the best course of action while ensuring alignment with CHAI’s values and principles and broad stakeholder consultation.
- Collaborate with the program team in developing scalable, sustainable, and impactful program concepts for existing and emerging program areas.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with at least three years’ work experience and the ability to think creatively and work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment. The Senior Associate must be able to function independently and flexibly, solving problems as they arise. This role requires strong relationship management.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project management, policy implementation, or stakeholder coordination.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data for decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive consensus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Advantages:
- Postgraduate degree in public health, business, economics, or related disciplines.
- Experience in HIV prevention or related health programs in Uganda.
- Experience informing the development of government strategy, policy, and operational plans, preferably in the health sector
- Familiarity with a broad range of key global health issues, including health systems or laboratory and diagnostic networks in developing countries.
