Our diverse client base includes homes, hotels, hospitals, NGOs, government institutions, and commercial/industrial entities across Uganda.
Job Summary
As the Manager, you will lead the company’s strategic and operational functions to ensure sustainable growth, client satisfaction, and excellence in service delivery. You will oversee business operations, coordinate cross-functional teams, build client relationships, and drive performance improvements. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with industry knowledge in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), refrigeration, and equipment hire services.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead daily business operations and ensure service quality across all departments.
- Develop systems and processes for efficient deployment, installation, and maintenance of cooling equipment.
- Oversee inventory, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet service delivery targets.
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Develop and implement business plans to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
- Identify new business opportunities in events, commercial projects, and service contracts.
- Monitor industry trends and recommend service development or diversification.
Team and People Management
- Provide coaching, supervision, and performance evaluation for team members.
- Promote professional development and a culture of continuous learning among staff.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of technical and support personnel.
Customer Relationship & Sales Support
- Client Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers and acting as the primary point of contact for large projects and service contracts
- Strategic Growth: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the commercial, industrial, hospitality, and event sectors.
- Quotation & Tendering: Prepare and review comprehensive proposals, quotations, and tenders for new projects, ensuring competitive pricing and technical accuracy.
- Promote the company brand, lead client negotiations, and handle escalated service issues.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Budget Management: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and optimize resource allocation to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed operational and financial reports for the Director(s), highlighting key performance indicators, challenges, and recommendations.
- Compliance: Ensure the company's operations comply with all local regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an operational or managerial role within the HVAC, Refrigeration, or M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) services industry.
- Deep technical understanding of various HVAC systems (Split AC, VRF, Packaged AC), chillers, and cold chain technology.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
